Students in west Northumberland have until today at 4 p.m. to apply for the Northumberland Hills Hospital Health Professions Scholarship.
The hospital says applications for the 2026 program must be submitted by the deadline this afternoon, with two scholarships of $1,500 each available. The program is aimed at supporting local students pursuing careers in the healthcare sector.
Introduced in 2003, the scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are either enrolled in or have been accepted into a full-time program related to healthcare. Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance, extracurricular involvement, a personal statement outlining their interest in the field, and written references.
Hospital officials say the program is designed not only to support students financially, but also to encourage local residents to consider careers within the region’s healthcare system in the future.
Recipients will be announced at a spring meeting of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Board of Directors.
Students interested in applying can find full details, including application forms and submission instructions through the careers section of the hospital’s website. Officials say all required documents must be received before today’s 4 p.m. deadline to be considered.
