The fifth March for Madness Challenge has raised more than $4,500 to support the emergency department expansion at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Last month, about 17 restaurants rallied for the challenge, donating $1 from select featured menu items sold in support of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Emerge Stronger campaign.
The foundation has now announced the final tally raised, and local businesses say it feels good to give back.
“We’re thrilled to take part and can’t wait to again next year. We find so much joy in being able to watch people enjoying ice cream and support a staple in our community like TMHF at the same time,” said Shawn Ricketts, director of operations, at Curley’s Fries and Ice Cream.
And this was just one of the restaurants participating in this year’s challenge.
“I think this is a great event,” added Joshua Blake, owner of Josh’s Diner. “It brought a lot of people into our restaurant, really brought the community together and I would do it again, anytime.”
The foundation is thanking all participating restaurants, their staff and residents for answering the call to raise critical dollars in support of expanding local healthcare.
