The Municipality of Brighton is reminding commercial property owners about a change to curbside recycling collection, while also urging residents to make sure water and wastewater bills are paid by the end of the month.
Starting the week of April 27th, curbside recycling service for commercial properties will move to Tuesdays.
Municipal officials say garbage and food waste collection for businesses will continue on Thursdays as usual.
Commercial properties must still follow existing set-out limits, including two bags of garbage with bag tags attached, three green bins of food waste, and up to 20 separated recycling units such as boxes, bundles, or clear bags. Clear bags are only permitted for shredded paper or plastic bags.
Businesses with questions about collection can contact Northumberland County’s Waste Division.
The municipality is also reminding residents that water and wastewater bills are due Thursday, April 30th.
Payment options include online or telephone banking, payments through financial institutions, pre-authorized payment plans, or cash, cheque, and debit in person at the Municipal Administration Office on Alice Street. Residents can also pay by Visa through the municipal website.
Officials note that cash should not be placed in the drop box.
Brighton is also encouraging residents to sign up for e-billing, calling it a quick, convenient, and environmentally friendly way to receive statements directly by email.
Additional information is available through the Municipality of Brighton website.
