The Municipality of Brighton is inviting residents to King Edward Park Arena this Saturday for its first annual Sport and Recreation Showcase, bringing local sports groups and recreation clubs together under one roof.
The event takes place April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the arena on Elizabeth Street and is designed to highlight the wide range of programs available in the community while promoting active, healthy living.
Municipal officials say residents will have the chance to meet local organizations, explore booths, register for upcoming programs, and watch demonstrations throughout the day.
One of the biggest highlights will be the official announcement of Brighton’s new Junior A hockey team, including the unveiling of the team’s new logo.
The showcase is being hosted by the Municipality of Brighton’s Parks and Recreation department and aims to help connect residents of all ages with the clubs, leagues, and activities that help shape the community’s recreation landscape.
Officials say the event is a chance for families, youth, and adults to discover new opportunities, whether they are looking to join a team, volunteer, or simply stay active and involved.
The municipality says the new Junior A hockey team announcement is expected to draw strong local interest as Brighton prepares to welcome a new level of junior hockey to the community.
