When Brandi Leifso takes the stage as keynote speaker for Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s sold-out Women’s Day Luncheon on May 14, she’ll be sharing more than a success story.
She’ll be sharing how rebuilding a life can begin with a single decision.
Leifso is the founder of Evio Beauty, a purpose-driven Canadian beauty brand built around wellness, confidence and social impact. She started the company while living in a women’s shelter after leaving an abusive relationship, a chapter she explores in her new book, Fearless Choices.
That first decision, she says, was never about building a business. It was simply about surviving and creating momentum.
Today, Leifso’s message is one of empowerment, especially for women who feel stuck.
She says too often people wait for certainty before acting, when in reality growth usually begins in uncertainty.
That same message ties directly to Cornerstone’s work supporting women and families affected by gender-based violence.
Leifso says events like the Women’s Day Luncheon are important not just for fundraising, but because they create conversations that continue in homes, workplaces and communities.
While the luncheon is sold out, she hopes the broader message continues to reach people who need it most – that difficult choices do not have to be perfect, they just have to begin.
Cornerstone says continued community support remains critical as demand for services grows across Northumberland.
You can learn more about Leifso’s journey in her book, available on the Evio Beauty website.
Here’s a bit of a longer clip from Leifso talking about Fearless Choices, meant to be inspiration for those who won’t be attending the luncheon and a teaser for those who will.
