A 54-year-old Quinte West man is facing charges after an impaired driving investigation involving an ATV over the weekend.
According to Quinte West OPP, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at about 10:20 p.m., a traffic complaint on Boulton Road led police to suspect the ATV driver may be impaired.
Following an investigation, police said charges were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, Liquor Licence and Control Act and Off-Road Vehicles Act.
Police said the 54-year-old Quinte West man was charged with operation while prohibited, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus,) operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, and drive off-road vehicle – no insurance.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused is due in Belleville court on June 11, 2026, reported OPP.
Police also said the vehicle was impounded for 45 days, and the accused had their licence suspended for 90 days.
Quinte West OPP continues to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
