An investigation into an alleged altercation involving several individuals in the Roseneath area is continuing, says Northumberland OPP.
On Monday, May 4, 2026, shortly before 8 p.m., officers responded to an incident at a residence on Hall Road in Roseneath. It was reported that two individuals were involved in an altercation and that a weapon was involved, said police.
The individuals sought in connection with the incident were not at the location when police arrived, and a description of the vehicle they left in was provided, reported OPP, adding all parties allegedly involved were known to one another.
EMS attended and assessed a complainant for non-serious injuries, and a local scenes of crime officer also attended to help with the investigation.
At approximately 9 p.m., officers reportedly conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description provided; however, the vehicle was not being driven by an individual sought by police.
Through continued investigation, OPP located and took several individuals into custody at an address on County Road 22 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand at about 10 p.m., reported OPP, adding no other persons are being sought at this time.
Police said the investigation continues and is being headed up by the crime unit.
No further information can be provided at this time, and updates will be issued as they become available, said police.
