Brighton’s popular Curbside Giveaway Days will make a comeback this weekend.
What does this mean for residents?
Well, from Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., residents can search for new-to-you treasures or kick unwanted items to the curb for free and help divert these gently-used items from the landfill.
Organizers say it’s a perfect opportunity to tackle some cleaning before summer starts and declutter and offer these items new homes.
What do you need to know to participate? There is no registration needed.
If you’re looking to take part, you simply place any unwanted but still usable items to the curbside you’re willing to give away for free between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. over the course of the three days.
For residents looking to search for new gems, curbsides across Brighton can be explored.
Municipal officials are asking residents to ensure items placed at the curb don’t block roadways, driveways or pedestrian or cycling areas.
What’s more, if you’re browsing for new items, you’re asked to ensure you’re not blocking driveways or roads, especially in a way that prohibits emergency vehicle access.
If you end up having leftover items after your cleanup, officials are reminding residents they’re responsible for bringing those items back in from the curb. Residents can also check with local thrift stores to see if they’re accepting items.
