The Trenton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary celebrated a monumental milestone in Brighton last week.
During its annual general meeting held at Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church, the auxiliary celebrated 75 years of volunteer service and raising critical dollars to ensure residents have care close to home.
“Since the inception of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, the auxiliary has contributed more than $1 million toward equipment, programs and patient care at TMH,” noted the foundation.
Adding to celebrations, the auxiliary also presented a third installment of $20,000 towards the foundation’s “Emerge Stronger” campaign in support of a multi-million-dollar emergency department expansion at the hospital.
“Supporting TMH has always been at the heart of what we do,” said Pat Lafferty, president of the auxiliary. “We are proud of the impact our volunteers and supporters have made over the past 75 years and honoured to continue helping ensure strong healthcare services remain available in our community.”
TMHF executive director Lindsay Butcher Dodds is also applauding the auxiliary and its volunteers for their dedication to ensuring care stays close to home, saying their commitment has helped shape healthcare in the region for generations.
“Their generosity, advocacy and volunteerism have made a lasting difference for patients and families throughout our community.”
