The multi-million-dollar reconstruction project along Prince Edward Street in Brighton has led to another temporary road closure.
The Municipality of Brighton has confirmed that Cedar Street from Forest Drive to Prince Edward Street is now temporarily closed due to ongoing work.
While no extensive details were provided for the closure, officials said it will be in effect until further notice.
However, the municipality said access to local homes will be maintained for residents and emergency services.
As previously reported, work ramped up on what’s supposed to be the final year for the project at the start of May at both ends of what’s left of the urban part of the project.
Crews are working simultaneously from Elizabeth and Harbour streets to meet in the middle by July.
After this, the goal is to tackle the central section between Loyalist Drive and the rail crossing.
Construction is supposed to wrap up by the end of October.
