Wasn't that a party! Last year's Rose Quest Dungeon and Dragons Questers
A live Dungeons & Dragons adventure blending fantasy storytelling, audience participation and community fundraising is returning June 6, 2026 after a sold-out debut last year raised roughly $5,000 for Rose Quest.
The Northumberland outreach organization supports people facing poverty, housing insecurity and other challenges through meals, hygiene kits, volunteer support and community connection.
This year’s event will once again include support from Canadian fantasy author and Forgotten Realms creator Ed Greenwood. Last year, Greenwood served as dungeon master, helping make the first event a major draw for longtime Dungeons & Dragons fans and curious newcomers. This time, Rose Quest chair Caleb Carisse says he’ll be taking part as a player.
Carisse says Greenwood’s involvement last year helped elevate the event.
This year’s adventure is also getting a more local twist, with the Ted Rouse acting as Dungeon Master and the story set in a fantasy version of Port Hope featuring familiar landmarks and local flavour.
Organizers are also expanding audience participation.
Carisse says the goal is to make the event feel less like something people simply watch and more like something they can help shape.
Beyond the dragons, dice and theatrical setting, the fundraiser is built around community support.
This year’s event takes place at Port Hope United Church and is being supported by sponsors including Sewing Machine Magic, Racine Law Professional Corporation, EB Games Cobourg & Corporate, Stuff!, Valanne’s Astrology, Grey Guardian Games, Journey Through the Arts and 401 Siding Ltd.
Tickets, player sponsorship opportunities and volunteering information are available through the Rose Quest Facebook page and sewingmachinemagic.ca/rosequest.
