Local healthcare is getting a major boost after this year’s Smile Cookie campaign in Quinte West.
The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced the tally is in for this year’s campaign and more than $52,873 was raised at Quinte West Tim Hortons’ locations.
Proceeds are going towards the purchase of new flexible cystoscopes for Trenton Memorial Hospital – and each scope costs about $19,359. The foundation said this year’s campaign will have a significant impact on patient care at TMH’s busy cystoscopy clinic.
“This campaign is such a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a common cause,” said Lindsay Butcher Dodds, the foundation’s executive director. “From the Tim Hortons owners and team members to our volunteers, sponsors, TMHF staff and every person who purchased a Smile Cookie, thank you.
“Your support will help fund vital equipment that allows patients to receive compassionate, high-quality care close to home at TMH each and every day.”
The campaign rallied people in the community who purchased cookies, as well as many several local businesses, firefighters and volunteers and more, including those who stepped up to help decorate and distribute cookies throughout the week-long campaign.
