A facility-wide COVID-19 respiratory outbreak remains active at Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg according to Lakelands Public Health and the facility.
The outbreak at the Northumberland County operated long term care home was declared May 7 before later being updated to a facility wide outbreak designation May 11.
According to the facility, there are currently 13 confirmed COVID-19 cases along with seven suspected cases connected to the outbreak.
Active confirmed cases are currently spread across several resident areas including Symons Cottage, McMillan Cottage, Blacklock Cottage and McMillan Garden.
Golden Plough Lodge says several infection prevention and control measures remain in place as staff work to limit further spread.
Residents who are symptomatic or potentially exposed are being isolated where possible while respiratory testing continues for symptomatic residents.
Dining room services have been suspended on McMillan Cottage though meal services continue in other resident areas.
The facility says life enrichment activities across Golden Plough Lodge have also been temporarily suspended during the outbreak.
Visitors are being strongly encouraged to wear masks and non essential visits are discouraged while active screening remains in place at entrances.
Staff say families and substitute decision makers will continue being notified if residents test positive.
