If you’re looking to run for council in Brighton, the municipality has announced plans to set up three elections booths at community events throughout the summer and fall.
The booths are supposed to help candidates interested in running for Brighton council, which is comprised of seven members, including five councillors, a deputy mayor and mayor. They’re also a chance for people to register or confirm information on the voters list and get answers to all election-related questions, explained municipal staff.
The first of the booths will be set up at the Codrington Farmers’ Market this Sunday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Then, on Canada Day, the municipality will host another information boost during festivities at King Edward from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Finally, during Applefest, there will also be a booth set up on Saturday, Sept. 28 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. downtown Brighton during the street fair.
In the meantime, if candidates are looking for more information, Brighton has a dedicated webpage for the 2026 municipal election.
Through the same site, residents can also learn about candidates running, register and/or confirm voters’ list information, key election dates, and more.
