OLDIES’ CUTEST PET CONTEST: If you have a furry friend who steals the spotlight, we’re on the hunt for the cutest. Send us your photos for a chance to win and shine with your furry friends. The deadline for entries is May 29 at 11:59 p.m., and the winner will be announced June 3.
BELLEVILLE FARMERS’ MARKET: Hosted at 15 Market Sq., Belleville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BUSY BEES: Swing on over to the Brighton Public Library from 10 to 10:30 a.m. to explore sensory activities with your little ones in a relaxed setting. The program is designed for babies and caregivers.
SONG AND STORY HOUR: Hosted at the Brighton library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Join Terry and Penny for sing-alongs and stories.
TWEEN SCENE: For ages 11 to 14. Swing by the Brighton library for snacks, games and crafts or just to hang out from 3 to 4 p.m.
OPEN MIC AT THE GRAND MAPLE: Every Thursday, the Grand Maple hosts open mic night featuring the best local entertainment and guest host musicians from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
RETRO MOVIE NIGHTS: Hosted at the Aron Theatre Co-op in Campbellford. Today’s showing is “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.” The movie starts at 7 p.m.
FRIDAY, MAY 29:
OLDIES CUTEST PET CONTEST: You have until 11:59 p.m. to get in your favourite shots of your furry friends for this contest. The winner will be announced on June 3.
P.A. DAY FUN: Swing by the Trenton library from 10 a.m. to noon for crafts, scavenger hunts and more for the kids.
QUINTE WEST POP-UPS: Swing by Centennial Park to have some fun during pop-up season running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
SPRING BOOK SALE: Swing by the Brighton Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a pay-what-you can sale and support your local library while getting some great deals on books, DVDs, and more.
SUZIE VINNICK LIVE IN BRIGHTON: This three-time Juno nominee,12-time Maple Blues award-winner and two-time Canadian Folk Music Award winning artist performs at Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church starting at 7 p.m.
DANCING WITH THE STARS QUINTE: This popular fundraiser makes its return in support of the Volunteer and Information Centre at Empire Theatre in Belleville from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
LOCAL SPORTS: Support our teams!
In local baseball, the Brighton Bandits have six games tonight, but only one at home with 19 and under team taking on Colborne at ball diamond A at King Edward Park starting at 8:30 p.m.
