An investigation is continuing after a fatal crash over the weekend in the County Road 17 area in Prince Edward County.
According to Prince Edward County OPP, on Saturday, May 30, just after 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian at the intersection of County Road 17 and Miller Road.
“A 77-year-old male pedestrian from Prince Edward County was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased,” said OPP, adding the motorcycle operator also sustained minor injuries.
OPP said members of the traffic incident management and enforcement (TIME) team were also called in to help at the scene with the investigation. The on-site probe shut down the County Road 17 area between Lucks Crossroad and McKinley/Mitchells Crossroads for several hours before reopening.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are calling on any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is also urged to reach out to OPP investigators at 1-888-310-1122.
