Trent Hills Pride is bringing together local voices for a community discussion focused on resilience, belonging and life in rural Ontario.
The organization will host Voices of Resilience: Thriving as 2SLGBTQIA+ Seniors in Rural Communities on Wednesday, June 10 at the Aron Theatre in Campbellford as part of its Pride 2026 programming.
The free event will feature a panel of longtime Trent Hills residents, including Bob Leahy, Meirion Jones, Stacey Love-Jolicoeur, Jo Jefferson, Trish Stenson and Jo Hansen.
Moderated by Trent Hills Pride board member Polly-Jean Vernon, the discussion will explore the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors who have lived, worked and contributed to the community over many years.
Organizers say the panel will offer an opportunity for residents to hear personal stories about building lives in rural communities, navigating change, and finding connection and belonging close to home.
The event is expected to touch on a range of topics, including community involvement, business leadership, advocacy, and the evolving experience of living openly in smaller communities.
Trent Hills Pride has expanded its educational and community-focused programming in recent years, complementing Pride celebrations with events designed to foster dialogue and understanding.
The panel is part of a continuing speaker series produced by volunteers with Trent Hills Pride and sponsored by Allen Insurance.
Organizers encourage residents from across Trent Hills and neighbouring communities to attend, learn from the panelists’ experiences, and take part in the conversation.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on June 10 at the Aron Theatre in Campbellford. Admission is free.
