According to Cobourg police, investigators are seeking information after two vehicles were reported stolen from residential neighbourhoods over the weekend.
The first theft is believed to have occurred between approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 12 and 5 a.m. on June 13 at a residence on Munson Crescent.
Police say a black 2025 Chevrolet Silverado four-door crew cab pickup truck was taken from the property.
A second vehicle theft was reported following an overnight incident on June 13.
According to police, a silver 2026 Lexus NX was stolen from a residence on Foote Crescent. Investigators say the vehicle’s last known GPS location placed it in Port Hope.
Both investigations remain ongoing.
Cobourg police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the areas, or who has security camera or dashcam footage, to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
Police are also reminding residents to take precautions to reduce the risk of vehicle theft. Recommended measures include locking vehicle doors, closing windows, never leaving keys or key fobs inside vehicles, and parking in well-lit areas whenever possible.
Investigators also encourage residents to consider installing security cameras and motion-activated lighting around their homes.
With vehicle thefts increasingly involving electronic relay devices, police recommend storing key fobs in signal-blocking pouches or containers when not in use.
Anyone with information related to either theft is asked to contact the Cobourg Police Service or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
The investigations remain ongoing.
