Drivers travelling through Quinte West should plan for delays Tuesday as the Johnstown Road bridge closes for scheduled maintenance.
The City of Quinte West says the bridge will be closed to all eastbound and westbound traffic on Tuesday, June 30, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The closure is required so crews can complete microsurfacing work on the bridge deck.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes while the work is underway.
Drivers travelling south of the closure can cross the Trent River using the D.J. MacDonald Bridge in Trenton, while those travelling north are advised to use the Frankford Canal Bridge.
The city says the work is weather dependent and is part of ongoing efforts to maintain local transportation infrastructure.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan their routes in advance.
More information about current and upcoming road construction projects is available through the City of Quinte West.
