Another candidate has entered the race for Quinte West City Council.
The City has announced that Paul Bartz has officially filed nomination papers to run for Councillor in Ward 1 (Trenton). His nomination was filed with the City Clerk on July 6.
Bartz becomes the latest candidate to join the 2026 municipal election campaign as nominations continue to be accepted.
Prospective candidates have until Friday, August 21, at 2 p.m. to file their nomination papers with the City Clerk. Following the close of nominations, the City will publish its official list of certified candidates on Monday, August 24.
Municipal elections determine who will serve as mayor and members of council for the next four-year term. Residents are encouraged to stay informed as the nomination period continues.

The City says additional announcements will be made as more nomination papers are received ahead of the August deadline.
