A 22 year old Roseneath man is facing multiple charges after Northumberland OPP investigated a reported break and enter and vehicle theft in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
Police say they were called shortly after 11 a.m. on July 8 after a complainant reported that a family member had allegedly stolen a vehicle from their residence the previous night.
Officers launched an investigation, located the suspect and recovered the stolen vehicle. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
The accused has been charged with break and enter into a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Northumberland OPP is not releasing the identity of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The charges have not been proven in court. Police encourage anyone with information about suspected criminal activity to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
