A Quinte West resident is facing an impaired driving related charge following a traffic stop in Trenton.
According to the Quinte West OPP, officers stopped a vehicle on Division Street at approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 11. During the investigation, police arrested the driver for impaired driving.
As a result, a 35 year old Quinte West resident has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 27.
Police say the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
The Quinte West OPP is reminding the public that if they suspect someone is driving or is about to drive while impaired, they should call 9-1-1, noting that reporting suspected impaired driving could save a life.
