The City of Quinte West is asking residents, sports organizations and recreation users to help shape the future of local recreation infrastructure through a new public consultation initiative.
The Quinte West Plays: Arena and Turf Feasibility Study is now underway, giving residents an opportunity to share their views on the community’s current and future recreation needs.
The study is one of the priorities identified in the City’s 2024–2039 Parks and Recreation Master Plan and will help guide future decisions and investments in arena and indoor turf facilities.
City officials say the study will assess both current and projected demand for arena ice and indoor turf space, evaluate the condition and use of existing facilities, and explore options for meeting the needs of Quinte West’s growing population.
Community feedback will play a key role in shaping the final recommendations. The survey asks residents how often they use local recreation facilities, what activities and programs they participate in, whether they’ve experienced challenges accessing ice time or indoor field space, and what amenities they consider most important in future recreation facilities.
The survey is available online through July 31, with paper copies also available at Quinte West City Hall in Trenton and the Frankford Municipal Office.
The City expects recommendations from the feasibility study to be presented to Quinte West Council in early 2027, helping establish priorities for future recreation infrastructure investments.
