Northumberland County is preparing to launch a major rehabilitation project on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Aug. 10 and will continue through October on the section of road between the 8th Line West and 11th Line West, north of West Corners and north of Campbellford.
The work is aimed at improving road conditions, replacing aging infrastructure and extending the lifespan of the roadway.
Planned improvements include the replacement of existing cross culverts to improve drainage, upgrades to roadside safety devices, full-depth asphalt replacement and the installation of new pavement markings.
“Investing in our transportation network is essential to maintaining safe and reliable connections for residents, businesses and visitors across Northumberland County,” Associate Director of Engineering and Public Works Peter Deshane said in a release.
Deshane added that the project will address aging infrastructure while supporting the long-term resilience of the county’s transportation system.
County officials say at least one lane of traffic will remain open during construction hours, with both lanes expected to reopen whenever possible outside of working hours.
Motorists should expect temporary lane closures, reduced speed limits and occasional delays while the work is underway.
Access to homes, farms and businesses in the area will be maintained throughout the construction period.
Residents are being encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow all posted construction signage.
