The City of Quinte West is advising residents and motorists about an upcoming temporary closure on Film Street as crews carry out storm and sanitary sewer improvements.
The work is scheduled to take place in two phases between Aug. 4 and Aug. 14.
During the first phase, which runs from Aug. 4 to Aug. 7, Film Street will be closed to through traffic from Dundas Street West to an area north of Shuter Street. Local traffic will continue to have access to the area.
City officials say the work will include storm sewer improvements at the intersection of Wilkins Street and Film Street, as well as sanitary sewer upgrades between Shuter Street and Sutcliffe Boulevard.
The second phase is scheduled to take place from Aug. 10 to Aug. 14. During that period, Film Street will again be restricted to local traffic only between Sutcliffe Boulevard and McGill Street while additional storm sewer work is completed.
The city says the project is intended to improve existing infrastructure and enhance the long-term performance of the sewer system.
