Ontario Provincial Police have released a video retracing the final known movements of a Nova Scotia teenager whose killing in Trenton remains unsolved 25 years later.
Kathleen MacVicar, 19, had moved from Glace Bay, N.S., to Ontario in early 2001. Police say she was last seen about 10 p.m. June 13, 2001, leaving a friend’s home and walking toward Canadian Forces Base Trenton, where she was staying with relatives.
Her body was found two days later in a wooded area of the base near Curtis Road. Police said she had suffered multiple stab wounds.
A $75,000 reward remains available for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The reward includes $50,000 from the Ontario government and $25,000 from the City of Quinte West.
MacVicar’s mother, Colleen, says she has spent the past 25 years wondering who her daughter would have become and longing to have her back.
