Applefest returns to Brighton this year from Thursday September 24th through to Sunday the 27th, bringing a whole wide range of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.
This year has a lot that’s the same from last year but also a few new changes to make this the best fest yet.
Let’s get into it.
Thursday September 24th
Ecumenical Service:
All are welcome to attend this community ecumenical service. Admission is free.
7:00 p.m. at the Evangel Pentecostal Church, 30 Butler Street.
Friday September 25th
Lion’s BINGO:
Bonanza Tickets sold at 5:30pm. Last numbers called at 6:30pm. 5 zip games start at 6:45pm followed by 9 regular games, 4 special games, and a jackpot game.
5:00 p.m. at the Owen Gibb Community Hall, 75 Elizabeth Street.
Apples Eve:
Featuring ROC Sportsman Series Race, Canadian Modified, North East Late Model Alliance (NLMA) Heats and Dash, Thunder Stock, Mini Stock Duel in the Dirt Combined Race and 358 Hot Laps and Dash for Cash.
7:00 p.m. at the Brighton Speedway, 775 County Road 64.
Applefest Pub Night:
Enjoy a pork roast dinner and apple crisp for dessert. Musical entertainment provided by Vinyl Groovz Band.
Tickets are $30.00.
6:00 p.m. at the Brighton Legion Building, 25 Park Street.
Saturday September 26th
Brighton Legion Peameal Breakfast:
Fuel up for a full day at Applefest with peameal bacon on a bun and a coffee or tea. $8.00 per person.
From 8:00 a.m. until supplies last at the Brighton Legion Building, 25 Park Street.
Brighton Kinsmen Pancake Breakfast:
Delicious pancake breakfast for $8.00 ($5.00 for kids under 12).
From 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Veterans Way, Downtown Brighton.
Ladies Auxiliary Apple Crisp:
$15.00 each or $8.00 for a warm bowl.
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Brighton Legion Building, 25 Park Street.
Music in the Park:
Enjoy music of all genres performed by your favourite local musicians. Bring your lawn chair and dancing shoes for a full day of entertainment.

Meet the Machine:
Get up close and personal with vehicles of all different shapes and sizes from the Municipality of Brighton’s fleet.
From 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the King Edward Park, 75 Elizabeth Street.
Applefest Car, Tractor & Motorcycle Show:
See cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles of all years, makes, and models on display while enjoying a live DJ, axe throwing, and food vendors! Want to show off your vehicle? Gates open at 8am for parking. No pre-registration is required. A registration fee of $5 (CASH ONLY) is payable at the gate.
From 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Brighton Public School, 24 Elizabeth Street.
Appleseed Funding 50/50 Program:
This year, we’ve partnered with the Brighton Marine Rescue (BMR) to run our Car Show’s 50/50 Draw. The proceeds from this draw will be used to fund the purchase of dry suits, an essential piece of equipment for personnel conducting rescues on the water.
From 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Brighton Public School, 24 Elizabeth Street.
Applefest Street Fair:
For ONE DAY ONLY – shop local from 150+ vendors and local businesses lining Brighton’s Main Street! Check out food vendors and offerings from growers, artisans, and more.
All day from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Main Street, Downtown Brighton.
Lion’s Children Village:
Fun for kids (and kids at heart)! This year’s activities include a rock climbing wall, large inflatable games, a photo booth, a petting zoo, giant Lego blocks, local artisan vendors, food trucks, face painting, and more!
All day from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the King Edward Park, 75 Elizabeth Street.
Emergency Services Open House:
Members of Brighton Fire & Rescue, Northumberland OPP, and Northumberland Paramedics will have their vehicles and gear on display at Fire Station #1. See them in action throughout the day as they perform demonstrations! Be sure to also drop by to learn about the importance of testing your smoke alarm as part of the “Saved by the Beep” program ahead of “Test Your Smoke Alarm” Day on September 28th.

Bunkies in Brighton:
Visit The Bunkie Company right off Highway 401 just North of Brighton. Discover how computerized machines build efficient tiny homes, how they can be assembled like furniture, and how industrial design can transform how living space is viewed. Enjoy fun STEM activities for kids and adults alike, along with live machine demonstrations and models on display to tour.
From 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 1027 County Road 30.
Opening Ceremonies:
Join us as we officially kick off the 52nd Applefest celebrations with opening remarks, a smudging ceremony, and a flypast by members of CFB Trenton.
At 11:00 a.m. right in Memorial Park, Main Street & 10 Veterans Way.
Kinsmen Beer Tent:
Enjoy a pint with friends and family on Main Street while taking in the Street Fair festivities. Cheers! Must be 19+ to enter.
From 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Veterans Way & Main Street.
Applefest Shootout:
Featuring DIRTcar 358 75 Lap Applefest Shootout ROC Sportsman Series Race, McDougall Insurance North East Late Model Alliance (NLMA) Great Crate Race, Thunder Stock Duel on the Dirt, UMP Open and Comp 4 Open.
3:00 p.m. (Hot Laps) and 7:00 p.m. (Racing) right at the Brighton Speedway, 775 County Road 64.
Apple Feast at The Barns of Brighton:
An evening of apple-inspired culinary delights by Toka Provisions and live entertainment by Bad Moon Revival, the ultimate tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival. All enjoyed in one of Brighton’s most iconic barns. Tickets are limited.

Family Friendly Sunday @ TSAUC
A fun-filled family event featuring live music, a play area for children, BBQ, and lots of homemade apple pie!
Right at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity-St.Andrew’s United Church, 56 Prince Edward Street.
On Saturday make sure to participate in the Applefest Global Eats Program
The Applefest Global Eats Program highlights the variety of international flavours and cuisines available at Brighton Applefest. Pick up a Global Eats Passport from participating vendors or from members of the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee volunteering at the Street Fair. Visit the participating vendors listed in the passport, purchase an item, and receive a sticker to add to your passport. Once you’ve collected your stickers, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a “Weekend in Brighton” prize valued at $1500!
To participate, purchase at least one item from a minimum of three different participating vendors to receive a stamp from each on September 26th, from 10 AM – 4PM. Only one stamp per vendor per person is allowed. Completed booklets must be submitted by midnight on September 27th to qualify. Only one entry per person, duplicate booklets submitted will not be counted. Prize winner will be selected through a random draw and notified via the contact information provided. Prize can not be exchanged for cash. Incomplete or altered booklets do not qualify. If vendor doesn’t provide a participant a stamp they can receive one from Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee volunteers ONLY if participant provides proof of payment. By entering, participants agree to these rules.
