Tammy Archer is a longtime resident of the Brighton area with a background in agriculture, small business and law-related work. She served on municipal council as a councillor for the Township of Brighton from 1994 to 1997 and as Reeve from 1997 to 1999. Archer also worked as a court reporter for more than 30 years.
Priorities and Experience
Archer says financial responsibility and value for taxpayers are central to her approach. She believes municipal spending should provide clear value and says her experience in business and previous council roles has given her an understanding of services municipalities are required to provide, as well as initiatives that are discretionary.
She describes her approach as “old school,” emphasizing common sense, practicality, financial responsibility and customer service. Archer also says she wants to see a second voting option available for the 2030 municipal election, following the online-only voting system being used for the current election.
Why Brighton
Archer has longstanding ties to the Brighton area through her agricultural background, business involvement and previous municipal service. She says her approach is centred on hard work, honesty and consistency, with a focus on serving residents and ensuring taxpayers receive value for municipal spending.
