Two Quinte West men are facing multiple drug-related charges following an Ontario Provincial Police investigation stemming from a traffic stop.
Officers stopped a vehicle near Leopold and West streets shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2026. Police say a wanted individual was arrested and found in possession of suspected controlled substances. Officers seized suspected fentanyl and other opioids, about $2,000 in cash and several cellphones.
Christopher Johnston, 24, and Lawrence Hamilton, 56, both of Quinte West, face multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and other drugs.
Johnston is also charged with breaching probation, while Hamilton faces charges of driving under suspension and having an open liquor container in a vehicle. Both were held for bail hearings.
