A Brighton man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Quinte West.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 2 shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, after observing a Highway Traffic Act violation.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Quinte West OPP detachment for further testing.
Daniel Shaw, 40, has been charged with impaired operation and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Belleville court on Dec. 3.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
Police remind motorists that impaired driving is preventable and urge anyone who suspects an impaired driver to call 911.
