The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation has raised a record $513,295.68 net at its 75th anniversary gala, with proceeds supporting improvements to emergency care and medical equipment at the hospital.
The event, presented by Scotiabank, was held Oct. 17 at the National Air Force Museum of Canada in Trenton, bringing together community members, businesses and hospital supporters to celebrate 75 years of local health care.
Fundraising activities included a live auction, a Fund-a-Need segment, an online auction and a raffle for a diamond tennis bracelet valued at $9,100, donated by Steve Marshman Fine Jewellery & Custom Design. The evening also marked the final career auction for longtime auctioneer Boyd Sullivan, who is retiring this year.
The gala coincided with the public launch of the foundation’s $8.7-million EMERGE Stronger campaign. The foundation says 75 per cent of the fundraising target has already been reached.
The campaign will support the expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department, the purchase of essential medical equipment and investments in health-care technology.
Foundation Executive Director Lindsay Butcher-Dodds said the record gala proceeds will help bring the organization closer to its campaign goal and support the future of patient care.
The foundation thanked Scotiabank, sponsors, donors, volunteers, the gala committee and guests for helping make the event a success.
The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation raises funds for equipment, programs and facility improvements to enhance patient care at the hospital.
