It’s going to be a big, green adventure at Simcoe Little Theatre as Shrek the Musical prepares to bring one of the world’s most recognizable ogres to the stage.
Running November 26 to December 13, the production promises plenty of laughs, colourful costumes, memorable songs and fairy-tale fun.
Director Lorraine Deming, making her Simcoe Little Theatre directorial debut, says the production is a massive undertaking.
With four main characters, another 21 supporting roles and nine major dance numbers, the production is pushing the limits of the theatre’s small stage.
But beyond the comedy and music, Deming says the story carries an important message.
The production has attracted performers ranging in age from 16 to approximately 70, including several newcomers to community theatre.
Deming says audiences can also expect surprises beyond the familiar story.
Shrek the Musical opens November 26 at Simcoe Little Theatre, bringing local talent and plenty of fairy-tale fun to Norfolk County.
Tickets are available at simcoelittletheatre.org.
