Brighton’s new mayor says his first priority is to develop a new strategic plan.
Newly-elected mayor Brian Ostrander addressed a packed room at the King Edward Park Arena last night, as council took their oath of office at the municipality’s inaugural meeting.
Ostrander says today, he will be calling a special meeting of council – likely for the week of Dec. 10. The agenda will focus on strategic planning – and how they can have a new plan in-place by February.
Since being elected, Ostrander’s met with municipal, provincial and federal politicians across Quinte as well as local schools, community groups and more.
He says all are excited to continue working with the municipality.
The first scheduled council meeting is Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.
